A reader tipped us off yesterday that Suburban Health Medical Center, an outpatient facility, at the Plymouth Meeting Mall has been closed. We stopped by this morning and there is a sign on the door saying it has indeed been permanently closed.

The center opened in 2012 under the Mercy Health banner as part of Mercy Suburban Hospital. In 2015, Mercy Suburban Hospital was sold to Prime Healthcare, which re-branded the hospital and the medical center at the mall.

We emailed a representative of Prime Healthcare to find out why it was closed, but have not yet received a response.
