We’re encouraging local residents to take a moment today to remember those men and women who served our country as members of the armed forces of the United States of America.

If you’re interested, please visit one of the area cemeteries or veterans memorials in the Freedom Valley that is having an official ceremony or one of the other area cemeteries or veterans memorials not involved in any formal ceremony.

The Conshohocken Veterans Memorial Park is located on Second Avenue, between Fayette Street and Forrest Street. Ceremonies will be held here at 11:30 AM today. The remembrance ceremonies will be led by the Conshohocken Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1074.
The West Conshohocken Veterans Memorial is located on Front Street at Ford Street. Parking is available in the adjacent parking lot of the West Conshohocken Borough Hall. Ceremonies are planned here this morning at 9:30 AM.
Memorial Day ceremonies will be held this morning at 10:00 AM at Saint Benedict Cemetery. This cemetery is located on Colwell Lane, between Ridge Pike and Brook Road, in Plymouth Township.
The Gulf (Gulph) Christian Cemetery is located along Matsonford Road and Old Gulph Road in Upper Merion Township. Ceremonies will be held at 8:40 AM this morning to remember the service of the military veterans who have died and are buried at this cemetery.
At 10:30 AM this morning, the Conshohocken Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1074 will lead remembrance ceremonies at Saint Matthew Ceremony to honor the men and women who have died and who have served our nation as members of the military of the United States of America. The cemetery is located at the intersection of North Lane and Butler Pike in Whitemarsh Township.
In addition to the cemeteries noted in this news column, a number of other cemeteries in the region will also welcome guests today to honor military veterans buried at their sites.
Additional memorial sites in the Freedom Valley that honor military veterans include two sites in Plymouth Township: the Freedom Valley Veterans Memorial, located in the Plymouth Bicentennial Park at 700 Belvoir Road, and the Plymouth Township Service and Devotion Monument, located at the Plymouth Township Community Center Park at Walton Road and Germantown Pike.
