The Leeland Room recently announced that it will become Leeland Mansion, which expands the event space from solely the ground floor to the entire building. Starting this winter, the entire mansion will be available for weddings, milestone celebrations, and private gatherings. First-floor-only rentals will continue to be available for events not needing additional space.
The mansion was built as the home of J. Ellwood Lee, the founder of Lee Tire and Rubber Company in 1892-93. The building then became a luncheon club, and in 1964, the Borough of Conshohocken acquired the property and utilized it for its borough hall and police station for many years. In 2018, the Borough of Conshohocken sold the property to The HOW Group, a Conshohocken-based developer, which created the Leeland Room event space on the ground floor and had its corporate offices upstairs.
From The HOW Group’s announcement:
This exciting expansion transforms the existing space into a full-scale venue experience—complete with private bridal and groom suites, a dedicated dining room, a commercial kitchen, and more. With increased capacity and thoughtfully designed spaces, Leeland Mansion will accommodate larger events while preserving the charm and character that have made The Leeland Room a local favorite.
