The Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board recently released data on the impact of events held in Montgomery County over the summer. In June, July, and August, over 40 events were held in the county that were brought to the region through the tourism board’s sports and events division.
Overall the events resulted in approximately 47,000 room nights at hotels and an estimated $50 million in economic impact (hotel rooms, dining out, etc.).
It is becoming more and more common to see kids and adults in uniforms strolling through the Conshohocken Farmers’ Market, dining at local restaurants on a Saturday, or walking around the Plymouth Meeting Mall. That is all due to The Proving Grounds.
The Proving Ground in Conshohocken (Plymouth Township) is one of the key venues attracting events to the region. Over the summer it held flag football, soccer, lacrosse and other events, which generated more than 10,000 of the estimated 47,000 room nights tabulated by the tourism board.
