The zoning hearing in Plymouth Township for the proposed data center at 900 Conshohocken Road in Conshohocken (Plymouth Township) has been pushed back to November 17th. It was initially scheduled for October 20th. The township’s zoning officer announced the change on October 17th.
An entity associated with developer Brian O’Neill is seeking a special exception to allow a 2 million square foot data center on the site of the steel plant in Conshohocken that is being closed.
The planning commission voted not to recommend the granting of the special exception during an early October meeting.
During that meeting, neighbors expressed opposition to the plan, citing concerns about its negative impacts, including air quality and noise.
O’Neill argued for the special exception, citing a data center being a similar use to warehousing and laboratory, which are allowed at the property under the current zoning.
The hearing will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the Plymouth Township Building.
