Everyone in Conshohocken Wanted a Cheesesteak Last Week

Most restaurants plan to have a soft opening and work out the kinks for the first couple of weeks.  Last week Pudge’s opened in the former space of the 401 Diner/Nirvana serving breakfast and lunch/dinner. We had breakfast there Monday morning and people started to consistently come through the door starting around 10:00 a.m. After we left, we heard a line developed and it stayed that way consistently throughout the week.

Due to the overwhelming demand it experienced in its first week, Pudge’s has announced via Facebook that it has decided to stop offering breakfast for the immediate future and focus on serving its signature cheesesteaks and hoagies. Below is the statement that was posted on MoreThanTheCurve.com’s Facebook on Saturday, July 19th:

Hello everyone! We cannot thank the community enough for welcoming us to Conshohocken! We wanted to address some concerns in the stream, and also to mention that the support has been so incredible that the volume of customers has greatly exceeded our expectations. We are working hard to reduce wait times as our staff becomes more familiar with the new facilities. We expected that by quietly opening, we would have a few days to gear up, but thanks to all of the enthusiasm, we have had long lines and wait times. We promise you that we are working swiftly to work through the volume of the opening and that things should level off soon. To answer to breakfast, we will be opening for breakfast as soon as we are fulfilling our expectations, and yours, of superior service and wait times for lunch and dinner. We will keep you posted. As of now we are opening at 11 for lunch. Our # is (484) 351-8029 and our website has been updated. Thanks again to all of you for your support. We are thrilled to be part of this great community.

So if you tried to get a cheesesteak last week and didn’t want to wait in line, be patient and give it a few days for the cheesesteak hysteria to calm down. We will keep you posted on the return of breakfast service.
