RoadSnacks Ranks Conshohocken 10th Worst Philadelphia Suburb

This list from RoadSnacks of the 10th worst Philadelphia suburbs is pretty silly. Included on the list are some of the most desired suburbs, including Conshohocken. Below is how RoadSnacks came up with the rankings:

To figure out how bad a place is to live in, we only needed to know what kinds of things people like and then decide what cities have the least amount of those things. We threw a lot of criteria at this one in order to get the best, most complete results possible. Using the government census, Bureau of Labor Statistics and Sperling’s Best Places, this is the criteria we used:

  • Less jobs
  • Low incomes
  • Low population density (No things to do)
  • Low home values
  • Higher crime
  • High cost of living

We crunched the numbers from the Census’s 2009-2014 American Community Survey and — like magic — got the list from worst to best. Then, we ranked the list based on places that are the worst in all of these categories.

The rankings are as follows:

1. Lansdale
2. Pottstown
3. Doylestown
4. Drexel Hill
5. Media
6. West Chester
7. Souderton
8. Folsom
9. Willow Grove
10. Conshohocken

Specifically about Conshohocken, the article states:

Population: 8,100
Crime Index: 90
Median Income: $67,393

Rounding out the ten worst Philadelphia suburbs to call home is Conshohocken.

Crime is the 5th worst in the region, and unemployment rates are the 8th highest. Conshohocken doesn’t rank ‘good’ in any category that we measured at all, hence, making it onto this list.

No wonder many of the people who live here use their town’s name as a swear word.

RoadSnacks ranked 27 towns overall and also making the list from MoreThanTheCurve.com’s coverage are Plymouth Meeting at No. 22 and Fort Washington at No. 27.
