West Valley Green Road Bridge in Whitemarsh Back Open

The West Valley Green Road bridge reopened in Whitemarsh Township on Wednesday afternoon after extensive repairs were made to the span by Montgomery County.

The bridge over the Wissahickon Creek closed on March 6th for safety reasons. The county commissioners asked the county’s Department of Assets and Infrastructure and its consulting engineers to investigate possible repair solutions to the bridge, and on July 7th the county’s Division of Roads and Bridges began the significant repairs. According to a press release issued by the county, the repairs were completed ahead of schedule and was repaired by county employees.
