Man sentenced after plea agreement for shooting in Miles Park in Lafayette Hill

The Pottstown Mercury reported on August 5th that 20-year-old Devin Andrew Burns of Glenmoore has been sentenced to eight to 16 years in a state correctional institution following a guilty plea for a felony charge of aggravated assault. Burns was prosecuted for a shooting that took place on November 13, 2024, in Miles Park in Lafayette Hill (Whitemarsh Township).

The shooting took place during an altercation involving two groups of young adults, ages 16 to 19, who had arranged to meet in the park for two females to fist fight over what police described as “boyfriend issues.” You can read the statement made by the Whitemarsh Township Police Department when Burns was arrested here.
