Montgomery County certifies election results, except for local judicial race which is undergoing a recount

On Monday, November 22nd, Montgomery County certified the election results from the November 2nd general election. The certification didn’t include the race for Magisterial District Judge 38-1-13 that is undergoing a recount. This judgeship covers the western side of Conshohocken and all of Plymouth Township.

On election night, incumbent Frank Bernhardt (R) held a 99 vote lead. Since then the county announced that 9,000 ballots had to be recreated due to their not scanning properly. There was also an issue with the 16,000 mail-in ballots that were printed on only one side.

As these ballots were processed in the days after the election, Democrat Jodie Lukens Griffis chipped away at Bernhardt’s lead and today Griffis unofficially has a 69 vote lead.

The recount started on November 22nd and is continuing today. It was not announced when it is expected to be completed.
