PREIT receives state grant to reconfigure access roads at the Plymouth Meeting Mall

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Finance Authority’s Multimodal Transportation Fund has awarded PREIT a $435,312 grant that will be used to reconfigure access roads at the Plymouth Meeting Mall in Plymouth Meeting (Plymouth Township).

While we are not sure this connected, PREIT has promised improvements to how traffic flows through the mall property when seeking the approval of an apartment community on the Whole Foods Market side of the property. PREIT has not yet received approval for apartments, however, Keystone Development + Development has the approval to convert the office building adjacent to the mall into apartments.

Funding from the Multimodal Transportation Fund can be utilized for the development, rehabilitation and enhancement of transportation assets in the state. The Commonwealth Finance Authority was established in 2004 as an independent agency of the Department of Community and Economic Development to administer Pennsylvania’s economic stimulus packages.
