Conshohocken Revitalization Alliance Proposes Second Alternative Plan for Moore Property

The Conshohocken Revitalization Alliance (CRA), which is in opposition to the proposed convenience store with gas pumps at the Moore property at 12th and Fayette at the border of Conshohocken and Whitemarsh Township, has offered an alternative plan for the property.

Please note that this is a plan of what is possible, not what is reality at this time. The property is currently under agreement with a developer who has been trying to get a Wawa or a Wawa-type business approved. The proposal has been voted down by the Planning Commission, Borough Council and the Zoning Hearing Board. It is currently being appealed before a court.

As you can see in the below Facebook post from the CRA, the alternative presented is a mixed use development with residential homes and a market. The residential use falls within the permitted uses of the Residential-Office zoning code. Zoning relief would be needed for the market portion.

This isn’t the first time the CRA has offered an alternative vision for the property. In 2012, it offered a mixed use plan involving retail on the ground floor of a residential condo community.

A couple weeks ago suggested CVS be moved from its current location in the center of town to this property.
